From darkness to light
What are the steps to walk and live completely in freedom.
Colossians 1:13-14 tells us:
He has drawn us out of the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love. In Him we have redemption, through His blood, namely the forgiveness of sins.
The moment you allow Jesus into your life, you are moved from darkness into light. You are literally transferred into the Kingdom of God. Your sins are instantly forgiven and your spirit is renewed and reborn. Whatever sins you have committed, however great they are, if you sincerely give your heart to Jesus, every sin is forgiven. You have now been given eternal life. This is called regeneration; where darkness first had power over your life, Jesus now reigns in your life. The darkness no longer has power over your life, you have now been given authority to rule over the darkness. It also says in Him we have salvation, the word salvation also literally means deliverance. You have been set free from darkness. Now you can start taking steps to walk in freedom.
Acts 2:38 reads:
And Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptised in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
God has a package ready for you through which you will begin to see and understand the spiritual world. To our human mind, this will not always make sense, but if you follow these steps, a new spiritual world will open up to you.
After all, God created everything and knows exactly how spiritual laws work. Think of the law of gravity, you don't see it but yet it works, even if you don't believe in it, the workings of the law of gravity remain. That's how it works with the spiritual world too. There are spiritual principles if you follow them then this will also have its effect on your life. This can be positive or negative. It starts with repentance, repentance is also literally saying goodbye to your old life and leaving it behind. This is followed by baptism by immersion. Through baptism, you leave your old life behind. The moment you are completely immersed, all the spiritual dirt is washed off you and you rise to a new life. Repentance and baptism are linked, as soon as you are converted it is good to be baptised right away.

Then the promise, the filling with the Holy Spirit. You need the Holy Spirit in your life, one of the first manifestations of the fulfilment is speaking in tongues language. This is a language you speak to God, you speak mysteries to God. Often when you don't know what to pray for a while you can start in this heavenly language. You will see when you do this that your prayer life gets a boost and areas start to break open in your life. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, the gifts God has ready for you are available. You have now entered His Kingdom. 1 Corinthians 12 and 14 say a lot about the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how you can function in them. You are going to learn to understand God's voice when you start giving space to the Holy Spirit in your life. If you have now done all these steps as God says in His Word, you will experience that a spiritual world will open up for you. In John's gospel it says if you are not born again you cannot "see" the Kingdom and if you are not baptised and filled with the Holy Spirit you cannot "enter" the Kingdom.
John 3:3
Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, If any man be not born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
John 3:5
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto you, If any man be not born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
It is important the full package God offers you to do the same.
You will be able to see the Kingdom and walk in it.
This means your spiritual eyes are opened and you can function in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Below is a prayer you can pray to give your life to Jesus and make Him Lord of your life. Pray this prayer with your heart, anything you pray with an open heart God will answer. He will come into your life and restore and renew everything.
Lord Jesus, I come to You. I acknowledge that You died on the cross for my sins, but that You also rose again from the dead. Forgive all my sins that I have committed so that at this moment I may receive Your grace and eternal life. By faith I accept You as my personal Saviour. I ask You to come and live in me: Come into my life Lord and make all things new in me! I acknowledge You as my Lord and place my life in Your hand. From today I am all Yours. Thank You that from today I may walk in Your Kingdom and be a child of Yours. Thank You for the new life. In 'Jesus' name. Amen!
